My experiences at great wall of China

image

The Great Wall of China is the largest man-made structure in the world. The total length of the Great Wall is 21196.18 km. It was built over a period of more than 2,000 years, and was constructed using a variety of materials, including stone, brick, and tamped earth. The wall was built to protect the Chinese Empire from invasion by nomadic tribes from the north, and it was also used as a means of controlling trade and immigration. The Great Wall of China is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

The experience of the Great wall of China was so unique and special to me that I think everyone visiting China must have this place on their bucket list. I was present in Beijing for around two weeks to attend an event in Beijing Language and Culture University. The school arranged the schedule for us to visit the Great Wall which was around two hours away from central Beijing.

We were so excited when we arrived there, we started walking in one direction, what frightened me the most is there were a lot of millipedes on the floor and staircase holders. The Great wall includes many stairs and steps, some of which are very steep. At some sections there was vertical climb which was hard but the view of The Great Wall and the surrounding valley was all worth the effort it took to get there.

We enjoyed the view and then took out our Cambodian flag to snap a picture together; unfortunately, when people saw our flag, they had no idea we were from Cambodia. After that, we decided to walk back to the wall’s base while holding our flags. Walking across the Great Wall is one of those unforgettable experiences that every visitor to China should strive to experience.
