I used to think I knew a lot about being a mom, but I recently discovered something that would help me be a better one. I used to work with pre-teen students, but this term I’ll be working with Pre-Kid 1. My students range in age from 2 to 5 years old. These youngsters are lively and energetic, which wears me out but warms my heart with their sweetness. Being with them practically every day has taught me that discipline is different from punishment. Since kids are still in their formative years and need to see role models of the people we want them to become, showing them kindness and care will have a lasting impact on their lives. As a mother and a teacher, I urge everyone to practice greater tolerance and understanding with our children, as it is one of the most wonderful ways to demonstrate our concern and love for them.
