Celebrating World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development

The World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development is celebrated annually on May 21. This event showcases the richness of the world’s cultures and the vital role of intercultural dialogue in achieving peace and sustainable development. As countries establish connection with each other, it is of utmost importance to be respectful to one another regardless of the differences; to embrace diversity and learn to live together with peace.

There is a rich cultural diversity at Aii. Our teachers come from different parts of the world, bringing with them unique and fascinating perspectives and experiences about life. We bring together individuals with different ideas and approaches to problem-solving, leading to a more creative and innovative classroom environment for all students. This makes Aii a special and intriguing place for everyone to learn and explore.

We take the extra mile to foster connection to one’s culture. For example, teachers and staff are encouraged to wear Khmer traditional clothing or their own national clothing to work twice per week. This initiative not only promotes Cambodia’s culture, but also that of other nations. Everyone has a great opportunity to show the uniqueness and beauty of their own cultures. This initiative enables everyone at Aii to share and learn from each other. We learn to appreciate and embrace the differences because we understand that it brings peace and development for all of us.

On this day, we call everyone to celebrate the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, through which we will be able to build innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability in today’s globalized world.
