Customer service is sometimes called customer support or customer success. It is about making your customers comfortable and happy by meeting their needs and solving their concerns/problems.
If you notice a customer looking rather lost, what do you do?
a. Take initiative by approaching the customer
b. Wait for the customer to come to you
c. Later, wonder where the customer has gone to
If you are someone who makes things happen, the answer would be a. If you are someone who watches things happen, the answer would be b. If you are someone who wonders what happened, the answer would be c.
Who should offer customer service? All employees, even those who do not have direct contact with customers. So, what’s all the fuss about giving good customer service? Simply put, in today’s competitive market, it is less expensive to keep current customers than to attract new ones. If you don’t take care of your customers, someone else will!
